Gutenberg blocks have been around for a while now and here at SuitePlugins, we are taking initiatives to create fresh blocks for our current custom Ultimate Member plugins and the new ones for the future.
Work has already begun to update all Ultimate Member addons that current use shortcodes and widgets to also include Gutenberg blocks.
What are Gutenberg Blocks?
Gutenberg blocks are pre-built elements of content that can be added to a WordPress page or post to create layouts. Blocks include images, headings, paragraphs, videos, audio files, quotes, tables, and buttons. Gutenberg blocks can provide basic webpage components, such as text and images, but also open the door to more advanced features.
So far, we have already updated the Login Widget for Ultimate Member on the WordPress plugin repo and have been working on updating our most popular plugins; Docs for Ultimate Member and Photo and Video Gallery for Ultimate Member.
These improvements are going to allow users using Block themes more ease when creating page layouts. This will also be a great benefit to those that are currently writing out shortcodes and all the many attributes. The new UM Blocks will allow you to configure the shortcodes with a familiar interface that will make life so much easier.
